"If You Don't Ask For It, You Won't Get It--How to Write an All-Encompassing RFP."

The Request for Proposal is the most important meeting document.  It outlines everything a group needs to produce its event.  It allows the venue to decide if this is a good piece of business for the hotel.  It sets the stage for negations.

Take-always:

1.  Learn the different requests and when to use each one.

2.  Learn what to include in the RFP.

3.  Learn the importance of creating an all-encompassing RFP so addendums are not necessary.

Our speaker Garland Preddy has worked in event management for 40 years and is a consultant to The Society of Government Meeting Professionals, managing and teaching the Certified Government Meeting Professionals class, in addition to other training.

She is a respected teacher/trainer in the hospitality industry.   She was an adjunct professor at George Washington University Events Management Program for over 20 years and also served as an adjunct professor at George Mason University.

In 2021, Garland was named as an Innovator by Smart Meetings.   in 2019 she was named to the Collinson Publishing 15 Over 50 for Planners.   In 2018 she was selected by SPIN for 40 over 40, and in 2014 she was named a Trendsetter by Meetings Today, recognized for "her work in the embattled government meetings segment."   In 2012 she received the SGMP Planner of the Year Award.
